SOUTH PARIS – Bessie P. Blanchard, 98, of South Paris, died Wednesday evening, July 13, at Market Square Health Care Center.

She was born in Amity, July 2, 1907, one of 19 children of Abraham Lincoln and Alice M. Johnson Hardy.

She attended school in Merrill and worked at C.B. Cummings and Son, Wilner Wood Products, B & M canning factory and the shoe shop in Skowhegan.

She was a member of the Baptist Church in Smyrna Mills, Norway-Paris Senior Citizens and the American Legion Auxiliary of South Paris.

She enjoyed gardening, beano, attending church and living in the country with her husband, George. She loved her grandchildren. She was married to George Blanchard, who died in 1970.

Survivors include a daughter, Georgia Anne Linindoll of Roxbury, Mass.; a son, Elwood Linindoll; a brother, Woodrow Hardy of Leominster, Mass.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Reginald “Rex” Linindoll; and a sister, Florence.
