RUMFORD – The reason the Moontide Water Festival Committee is considering cutting the three-day Moontide Festival to one day is not because of expenses, said Joseph Roberts, president of the committee. It is because July 4, 2006, falls on a Tuesday, a day expected to draw fewer volunteers and fewer attendees. Roberts said most of the cost of the celebration is for events on the holiday. The information was incorrect in a story in the B section of Friday’s Franklin, Oxford Hills and River Valley editions.
