Just imagine: You go to work Monday morning only to find your job has been given to someone who will do your job for half of what you get and perhaps not even a U.S. citizen.
Well, it could happen to you or me or to just about anyone. It’s called outsourcing.
How much will General Dynamics really save by outsourcing work? With 27 workers earning $40,000 per year, that is only $1,080,000. Not a lot of money for a corporation with some people earning millions per year in salaries. Somehow, I think a chairman making millions would be a better target.
This issue has nothing to do with the unions at BIW. It has a lot to do with greed and people who never seem to have enough money.
Don’t we deserve to earn a good living wage? We should not have to sacrifice that just so the kings can earn more money. It’s time we put the brakes on this before we lose a standard of living that so many have struggled to get to.
Perhaps the BIW workers are doing what we all should be doing. And that is saying enough already.
Should we have to be hungry, lose our homes and our dignity so that some out-of-stater or temporary worker can work for nothing and the kings continue to reel in more and more profit? You tell me.
