DIXFIELD – A public informational meeting on concept design for SAD 21’s new school is to be held at 6 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Dirigo High School in Dixfield.
Portland Design Team Architects of Portland is to plan, design and build the district’s new 300-pupil elementary school.
The new facility, which is to serve students in pre-kindergarten through grade five, is to be built off Route 108 in West Peru on 34.4 acres. It is expected to open in 2008.
At 7:30 p.m., or after the informational meeting, SAD 21 directors are to conduct their monthly meeting, which is to include a discussion of whether middle school football should be a SAD 21-sanctioned sport. The board is then expected to vote on the matter.
Superintendent Thomas Ward is also to report on statuses of Project Graduation, site approval by the State Board of Education, and the Canton School closing process.
