AUBURN – A surprise party was held recently for Lucien and Rolande Dube of Auburn, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. The event was planned by their four sons, Robert, Richard, Normand and Marc, and was held at The Sedgley Place in Greene.

On Feb. 12, a Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn, where the couple renewed their vows with the Rev. Kevin Martin officiating. Witnesses were their sons and families and extended family members. On Feb. 19, a stretch limousine drove the couple to The Sedgley Place, where an afternoon of good food and merriment was enjoyed. Their four sons were toastmasters.

Decorations were gold and white balloons with the number 50 arranged on each table. The centerpiece on the honor table was an arrangement of flowers to look like the original bridal bouquet.

The couple was presented with a group portrait of their sons and spouses, grandchildren and great-granddaughter, along with four individual pictures of their sons and families. A cake was served with the original bride and bridegroom cake top from their wedding 50 years ago.

Mr. Dube and the former Rolande Martel were married on Feb. 19, 1955, at St. Louis Church in Auburn. Along with their four sons, spouses and partners are Mary, Ellen, Richard Campeau and Cindy. Their grandchildren are Robert Jr., John, Catherine, Stephen, Heather, Stephanie, Nicole and Matthew Dube. Their great-granddaughter is Kristen Dube.

Mr. Dube is retired from Tambrands Inc., and Mrs. Dube is retired from Country Kitchen.
