JAY – Funeral services for Herman A. Carlstrom and his wife, Roberta A. (Cushman) Carlstrom, were held Friday afternoon, July 8, at 2 p.m. at the Jay High School Cafeteria with the Rev. Dr. Douglas Dunlap of the Wilton United Church of Christ and the Rev. Margaret Proctor co-officiating. Guitar solo “Amazing Grace” was offered by Stella Carlstrom. Family remembrances were shared by their son, Eric Carlstrom, as well as Moly Feeney, Robin Page-Dufour and Dory Butterfield. Pallbearers were Eric Carlstrom, Gerry Page, David Page, William Cleaves Jr., Michael Cleaves, Mark Cleaves, Scott Lennon and Logan Feeney. Public graveside committal services were held Sunday, July 10, at 1 p.m. at the Stockholm Cemetery with the Rev. James Morgan of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Stockholm, officiating. Hymns included “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace.” The lesson was 1 Corinthian 13: 1-13. Cousins, Charlie Anderson, Don Anderson, David Anderson, Douglas Stewart, Linda Callison and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Forsman offered personal remembrances. The Stockholm American Legion conducted full military honors following the Commendation and Benediction. Arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Road, Route 133, Jay.
