LEWISTON – Ruth A. Poulin, 78, of Charles Street, Lewiston, passed away, Saturday, July 16, at Central Maine Medical Center.
Born in Lewiston, on April 25, 1927, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Anna Pelletier Whitten.
She married Jean Poulin on Sept. 1, 1952, until his passing in 1994.
She was an active parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church for many years, a member of the Rosary Sodality and a choir member of St. Patrick’s Church. She chaired the Christmas fair for many years, and was a member of the church council. She also worked as a cook for St. Joseph’s rectory.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by two sons, John and wife, Suzanne Poulin, of Lewiston, and James and wife, Joyce Poulin, of Biddeford; three daughters, Marie and husband, Laurin Gordon, of Hallowell, Christine Poulin, her caregiver for the past 11 years, and Kathleen and husband, Ron Littlefield, of Harpswell; and grandchildren, John Nick Poulin, Michelle Poulin, Karin Gordon, Andrew Gordon, Timothy Gordon, Sarah Gordon, Zachary Poulin, Christopher Paquet, and Nicole Paquet.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Jean “John” Poulin; and one brother, Paul Whitten.
