A short time ago, I left Hope Haven Gospel Mission after helping serve supper and found my car had been hit with eggs. I went back inside the mission to give those there a heads-up that it might have happened to other cars. I learned then that the mission building had been the victim of eggings during the previous week.

I wonder if those who did the vandalism understand that Hope Haven helps people who have had to leave their homes or who are having a difficult time. The mission gives meals to those who might not get something to eat otherwise. The mission is a ministry of God. I consider my vehicle a ministry of God as well, reflected in my choice of license plate. I know that God cares.

I hope the vandals never need the services of the Hope Haven Mission. They showed a complete lack of respect for God and his ministries.

I also hope the vandals will find it in their hearts to seek forgiveness. I am sure they would feel better if they did.
