ANDOVER – A Demonstration Day and Chili Cook-off are in the works at Ellis River Riders from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 23. The arena is located two miles south of Andover just off Route 5.

The club officers hope to draw a large number of the more than 300 active members as well as nonmembers from the surrounding communities who are interested in learning about horse-related activities.

The demonstrations scheduled are endurance riding, long lining, miniature horses, dressage, eventing and reining. In addition, a Chili Cook-off will take place at noon to feed the masses.

The club, established in 1985, has increased in its membership over the years and is having a growth spurt. The focus continues to be providing a fun and casual atmosphere for a variety of horse-related activities from organized trail rides to open shows and gymkhanas as well as hunter paces. Those new to the horse world are also invited to join.
