WATERVILLE – Joan W. Clough, 68, of Waterville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 14, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Unit.

She was born the daughter of Loey L. Hale and Norman Weymouth in Farmington.

She was employed several years as an administrator in the family nursing home business. While administrator for Klearview Manor in Fairfield, she became interested in and started a riding program for the handicapped. Later, she and her husband owned and operated Sacred Heart Boarding Home in Waterville, where she had to retire due to health problems.

She enjoyed meeting and caring for people her entire life. She also enjoyed her dogs and horses. In later years, she and her husband enjoyed camping and traveling the United States in their motor home. She was a wonderful wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, of 39 years; one daughter, Tawnya L. Clough of St. Louis, Mo.; three sons, Dan and his wife, DA, of Augusta, David and wife, Ellen, of Madison, and Fletcher and wife, Jesse, of Winn; two sisters, Jeannine Wells and husband, Dean, of Chesterville, and Sherrill Brann and husband, Terry, of Wilton; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Kirtley Woodcock.

She will be greatly missed by dear friends in Texas and Waterville.
