Youths participate in the summer program sponsored by Sisters of Charity Health System.

LEWISTON – Forty-eight area teens, ages 13 to 17, are participating this summer in the Junior Volunteer Program at Sisters of Charity Health System/St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. After completing a day-long orientation and training program, the junior volunteers are on duty offering a variety of support services throughout the healthcare campus.

St. Mary’s Junior Volunteer Program has been a long-standing tradition offering teens an opportunity to help others while making new friends, developing new skills and exploring career interests in healthcare.

Returning this summer as veteran junior volunteers are Elizabeth Brochu, Ashley LaGrange, Jessica Malia, Brook Mathieu, Brian Morrell, Kristy Williams of Lewiston; Riley Dumont, Kim Courtemanche, Lyndsay Nadeau and Jessica Jacques from Greene; Rory Chisholm-Drane, Andrew Goodman and Moneca Landry from Auburn. Other returning volunteers are Courtney Guimond of Turner, Justin Ouellette of Poland, Jamie Hodgdon and Alexis White of Leeds and Samantha Kenney of Fayette.

First-year junior volunteers include Marissa Bisson, Chris Brooks, Amanda Cyr, Ashley Doyon, Ashley LaBonte, Elise Malone, Alison Masse, Juwelene Parro, Sarah Patrie, Clarissa Smith, Kathryn Sturgis and Allysa Thomas of Lewiston. Also Emily Blackwood, Jonathan Caron, Ryan Cyr, Chris Schenk, David Schenk and Kasey Smith of Auburn; Hillarie Nuzzo, Litchfield; Katy Rabasco, Poland; Taylor Cloutier, Michelle Michaud, Elizabeth Moreau, Michelle Nadeau, Morgan Smith, Greene; Alicia Brown, Durham, Kristen Capen and Alexis White, Leeds; Jacob Chicoine, Buckfield and Josh McNally, Norway.
