LEWISTON – Members of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club will, on Thursday, July 21, learn more about the Make-A-Wish Foundation from Executive Director Tom Peaco. The club holds its weekly meetings at noon at the Ramada Inn on Pleasant Street. Anyone wishing to attend to hear the speaker or to learn more about Rotary is welcome. Weekly buffet luncheons are $8 a person.
Jaycee picnic
AUBURN – The Lewiston-Auburn Jaycees will host a picnic at the Crescent Beach from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 24.
The picnic will provide information about the Jaycees and what is involved with the membership. The chapter also wants to raise awareness about the community events in which they are involved.
It is a family event so everyone can attend. Those wishing can pack a picnic lunch or buy from the snack shack at the beach. The Jaycees will provide entertainment with games and raffles.

Art show set
POLAND SPRING – The Poland Spring Preservation Society second annual art show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 23, on the grounds of the Poland Spring Resort, Route 26. Rain date is Sunday, July 24.
Approximately 50 artists have registered to display their works. Local musicians will entertain, and lunch will be available.
Bible school
LEWISTON – Holy Family Parish’s Vacation Bible School will be held this year from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, Aug. 1 to 5, at St. Dominic Regional High School, 121 Gracelawn Road, Auburn.
The program is “Kingdom of the Son,” a week of safari adventure, and is based on the Lord’s Prayer. There will be songs, skits, crafts, games, Bible stories and snacks. Parents are welcome. Call Marie Beaulieu at 782-8928 for registration information.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on July 18 were: N/S, first, Ron Reynolds and Ray Sirois; second, Cynthia Bonsey and Janice Wolfe; third, Lue Bilodeau and Luke Merry; E/W, first, Marlene and Conrad Violette; second, Richard Balian and Dick Allen; third, Barbara and Bill Whitman.
