DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Main Street Outdoor Market Committee met recently to begin making plans for Market Day 2005, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, rain or shine.
This year’s race will be known as the third annual Bicentennial Market Road Race. Races for youth and adults will be held early on Market Day under the direction of Paul Jones (562-7172). Anyone interested in helping on the committee or helping with the races should contact Jones or any committee member.
Plans for the day also include a chicken barbecue put on by the King Hiram Masonic Lodge. The Firemen’s Auxiliary will have coffee and doughnuts in the morning, and the sandwiches and drinks will be sold at noon. Both will be at the Dixfield Fire Station.
Crafters and those selling doll clothes, collectibles and military items will join with a variety of other vendors and those selling raffle tickets. Music will be played in the G. Dana Holt Gazebo throughout the day.
Vendor applications are still available for 10-foot by 15-foot booth space for $15. Any person or group wanting to rent a space should contact Ralph or Norine at 562-8816 days Tuesday through Saturday. Committee members include Felicia Pietila, Diane Carleton, Paul Jones and Rita Girardin.
