LEWISTON – Gov. John Baldacci recently nominated Arthur J. Roy of Lewiston and Donald W. Linscott Jr. of Auburn as members of the state Selective Service Board.

On June 24 the pair received certificates of appointment from President George W. Bush through William A. Chatfield, national director of Selective Service.

They have been assigned to membership in Selective Service System Area Office 002/Local Board 006 for the state.

Roy and Linscott are active members in the VFW Post 1603 in Auburn, District 9 VFW and the Department of Maine, VFW. Both have also served as National Council members of VFW District 1, serving Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
