Some people seem obsessed by opinion polls, which are designed to receive answers which reflect the views of the poll taker. Facts are more enlightening. The number of our troops killed in Iraq – 1,700-plus – is fact, not an opinion. Also, the wounded and disabled number many thousands. Also a fact is the thousands of Iraqi men, women and children killed or maimed by bombs authorized by the Bush administration.

Another fact is that most of the Sept. 11 terrorists came from Saudi Arabia, so President Bush punished the Saudis by invading Iraq. Isn’t that rather illogical?

Is there anybody or anything logical in the present administration in Washington? The president tells us things look good in Iraq, but the daily body count contradicts his meaningless rhetoric.

If our country is to survive, there must be changes.

An accurate vote count is necessary in a democracy. In 2004, a vote count was reported, but was it accurate? With the use of electronic voting machines (with some, no recount is possible), we don’t know. Don’t expect corrections to be made by those who benefit from the situation. To survive, we need a miracle and God’s mercy.
