It is with great anger that I write this. I am angry at a judicial system that should protect children, but, in turn, protects the sexual predators of our society.

I am filled with confusion and rage at the fact that, in our society today, a criminal who has been convicted of robbery can be incarcerated for years on end, yet a criminal who has been convicted of the act of unlawfully touching an innocent child in a sexual manner is permitted to spend his days free.

Those predators commit a crime that strips children of their innocence for the rest of their life. Studies have shown that they will often be repeat offenders unless stopped by incarceration.

Unlawful sexual touching is considered a Class D crime, very minor. What message are we sending to those predators? Do we actually want to give predators the chance to prey on a child again? What message are we sending to society?
