LEWISTON – Normand R. Gosselin, 58, of 38 Dill St., died Thursday, July 21, at his home, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Lewiston, on Jan. 15, 1947, he was the son of Roland and Anita Mathieu Gosselin. Educated in local schools, he served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Due to the severity of his wounds, he retired from the Army in 1969 and returned to Lewiston.

On Aug. 14, 1971, he married the former Gloria Cyr.

A member of Holy Cross Parish, he also belonged to the DAV, the Vietnam Veterans of America, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, VFW Post 9150 and the American Legion Post 22.

He enjoyed collecting classic toys, loved attending toy and car shows, collecting, selling and trading auto memorabilia, and spending time with his friends and family – especially going for cookouts at his brother’s home. Unfortunately, declining health over the past three years left him unable to do many of the things he enjoyed.

His family will always remember Wednesday nights with the guys, weekly visits from his faithful friends and all the entertaining stories he loved to tell.

Survivors include his mother, Anita Gosselin of Lewiston; his loving wife, Gloria Cyr Gosselin, of Lewiston; two daughters, Kimberly Gosselin and companion, Kurt Knowlton, of Auburn, and Kara Gosselin of Bangor; four brothers, Roger and wife, Dolores, of Rocky Mount, N.C., Bertrand and wife, Dot, of Sabattus, Robert and companion, Bev, of Millington, Md., and Roland of Portland, Ore.; and a sister, Lorraine and husband, Troy Moore, of Harrison. He was eagerly anticipating the birth of his first grandchild, due to be born to his daughter, Kimberly, this December.
