More and more the question comes to mind: “What has happened to the spirit of natural modesty?”

Why are our young girls exposing so much of themselves to any and every passing eye? Perhaps to the eyes of a pedophile, rapist or even a murderer.

Why are mothers and fathers allowing their children to go outside wearing clothing that should make the parents themselves uncomfortable to see, even at home?

Are the parents afraid their daughters will hate them if they don’t allow them to dress in this half-clad way?

Actually, some of the things parents should be afraid of are teen pregnancy, teen rape, teen kidnapping, teen pornography and even teen murder.

What the girls may, eventually, hate the parents for is simply that the parents let them have their way. The parents didn’t care enough to let them be furious. Adults must do their best to protect young adults from the dangers out there, where many people care only about themselves and what they can get to satisfy their own desires (some good, some not so good).

Adults are old enough to know better; youngsters are not.

It takes courage to stand up to angry children, but, if we love them, we will do it.
