A few weeks ago, as I was about to enter Holy Family Church for Mass, I was approached by someone asking me to sign a petition to “stop same-sex marriages.” Without even reading it, I signed, because I am firmly against such “marriages.”

Then, when opinion articles started appearing in the Sun Journal, I realized that I had been misled, because it was really a petition to reverse the anti-discrimination law that was overwhelmingly passed just last year. I feel that is a good law.

I am terribly upset about this, and I sure would like to know how I can have my name taken off that petition.

Shame on those who initiated that petition without being upfront about its real goal.
