After winning the state championship her junior season, Brittany Morin didn’t expect anything less from her Winslow High School softball team.

“I had high expectations for our team,” said the senior catcher. “So I really thought we could do it.”

The Black Raiders duplicated their state title, and Morin played a significant role on and off the field. She was the backbone behind the plate and the leader as team captain. She was named Miss Maine Softball as the state’s top senior player. Morin batted .421 and scored 21 runs while going 16-for-16 in stolen base attempts. She was also errorless behind the plate and had an arm that baserunners feared.

“I knew we had the players on the team, but we worked together as a team really well. Our defense was our strong point. Our offense came at the end of the game, and our defense pulled through for us this year,” she said.
