Allanach family

CANTON – The 15th reunion of the descendants of Christopher and Eva Allanach was held at the VFW Hall recently with 39 present.

President Rachel Carlton presided over the business meeting. The following officers were elected: president, Betty York; vice president, Dana Carlton; and secretary-treasurer, Joyce Carlton.

Diane Pelletier read the names of the deceased members followed by a moment of silent prayer. The senior member attending was Lois Gordon of Livermore and the youngest was 8-month-old Reilly Russell of Hartford. Craig Esty of Salorburg, Pa., traveled the furthest.

There were two deaths and one birth during the past year. It was voted to hold the 2006 reunion at the home of Betty York on July 8. A potluck dinner was held at noon.

Family members attended from Salorburg, Pa., Canton, Cumberland Center, Greene, Hartford, Livermore, Livermore Falls, Mexico, New Gloucester, North Jay, Peru, Steep Falls, West Paris and West Sumner.

Buckingham’s

DIXFIELD – The Buckingham family reunion was held July 16 at the Mountain View Campground. The descendants of John and Grace Buckingham included 70-plus in attendance, traveling from Massachusetts and many towns in Maine.

Events included a potluck meal, a Yankee auction, games for the children and a 50/50 raffle, which was won by Pauline Buckingham.

A family meeting was called to order by Bill Buckingham and a committee was voted: Laurie Buckingham Arsenault, president; Debbie Buckingham Phillips, treasurer; Andrea Roberts Angoti, secretary; Margaret Heath St. Cyr, family researcher; Preston Buckingham, historian; and Jared and Tia Buckingham, game committee for next year’s reunion. It was also voted to hold the reunion on July 22, 2006, at the Mountain View Campground.
