LEWISTON – A number of local student and community-based organizations met recently at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College to discuss opportunities for greater collaboration in order to better serve the Lewiston-Auburn community.

Joint programming, information sharing and a calendar of events were some of the ideas discussed.

The first joint venture of the new collaboration will be an event on Sept. 11, which will include discussion of the effects of 9/11 on American society, federal funding and the war on terror, immigrant experiences and how the challenges are being met on the local and national levels.
