BANGOR (AP) – A former postal worker has settled her discrimination lawsuit against the U.S. Postal Service days before a jury trial was scheduled to get under way.

Linda L. Randall of Old Town filed the federal suit nearly two years ago, claiming she was sexually harassed by her male co-workers at a postal processing and distribution facility in Hampden. The trial had been scheduled to start Monday.

Attorneys on both sides declined to discuss details of the settlement.

In her complaint, Randall alleged that because her supervisors failed to take action against the harassment, she became ill, lost work time and eventually had to quit her job. She sought compensatory and punitive damages, back pay, lost benefits, attorneys’ fees and other relief from the federal court.
