AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. There will be the usual raffle table, and garden vegetables are welcome.
The annual indoor/outdoor picnic was held at the American Legion Hall on July 13. Eighty-two members were present for the event, which was held under the supervision of Irving and Charlotte Grant. The menu, including hamburgs and hot dogs, was served by a volunteer crew, with Lucien Marcoux and Francis Breton as the chief cooks.
Coffee and doughnuts were served in the morning and social activities throughout the day included games, card games and bingo, with special and higher awards given for the bingo winners. Ice cream sundaes were served as dessert.
Vacation school
LEWISTON – The South Lewiston Baptist Church will present its annual vacation Bible school from 8:45 to 11:15 a.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 1 to 5.
“Serengeti Trek” is this year’s theme, “Where Kids Are Wild About God’s Love.” The program invites children, ages 5 to 12, to play teamwork building games, sing songs and apply daily challenges. Bible stories and characters will be a feature as well as scriptural verses.
Each day will conclude with the “Mane” event – a celebration that gets everyone involved in living out what they’ve learned. Family members and friends are encouraged to participate daily for that segment.

Fellowship
LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet on Monday, Aug. 1, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street. The gathering will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed at noon with a potluck lunch. All interested widows in the area are invited.
Toastmasters
AUBURN – The Lewiston-Auburn Toastmasters Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, in the Auburn Police Department first-floor conference room, Minot Avenue. The program will include three speeches, evaluations of those speeches and impromptu responses to questions during the Table Topics session.
Toastmasters International provides a supportive environment in which to develop public speaking skills.

Teens visiting
GRAY – For the 11th year, the Rev. Paul Barowski will bring a group of teens from Bethpage, N.Y., to work on Habitat for Humanity building projects in Portland and Cumberland. The Long Island youth will learn to use insulated concrete forms made of polystyrene for poured-in-place concrete walls and foundations.
