Dress rehearsal

RUMFORD – The Rumford Public Library Children’s Theatre dress rehearsal for “Finding Nemo” will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, in the auditorium.

Theatre professional Nancy O. DeMilner, back for a seventh season as director of the theater, has adapted the film for presentation on the Rumford Town Hall stage. Forty-six local youngsters, ages 5 to 15, have been in rehearsal since early June.

The play will be staged at 3 and 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Town Hall auditorium. Admission is free. Use the River Street entrance for the evening performance. For more information, call the library at 364-3661.

Quilt displayed

MEXICO – The Bicentennial Quilt will be on display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Mexico Historical Society, 3 Oxford St.

The Ladies of the Lake quilters will demonstrate their work. Anyone is welcome to bring quilted items to display.

The book, “Remembering Ridlonville,” by Author Beverly Melanson will be available for $15. Bicentennial cups will also be on sale for $5.

Wild West events

EAST DIXFIELD – A Countryfolk Music Theatre Wild West Weekend will be held starting at 9 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 29, 30 and 31.

All donations support the Countryfolk Youth Music Scholarship Project. The public is invited to the free event. There will be a potluck meal Saturday and Sunday; bring a favorite dish to share. Free chuckwagon beans will be available all weekend.
