LEWISTON – Androscoggin Bank’s Lesley K. Martin Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Adam Wilding, a 2005 graduate of Lewiston High School.
This is the fourth year that Androscoggin Bank has presented the $1,000 award to a qualified Lewiston High School student.
While at Lewiston High School, Wilding was captain of the varsity tennis, soccer and ice hockey teams. He was involved in numerous community service activities, serving as a volunteer coach in local youth hockey and soccer leagues; as a mentor in the Big Brother/Big Sister program; and as a volunteer at the Food Pantry in Lewiston. In the fall Wilding will attend Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass., where he will major in civil engineering.
“Throughout his high school career, Adam Wilding has exemplified leadership, community/youth involvement, as well as a strong commitment to his education,” said Steve Closson, Androscoggin Bank president and CEO. “I wish him much success in his future endeavors.”
The Lesley K. Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor Lewiston High School student Lesley Martin who died in an automobile accident in 2001. The award is intended to aid college-bound students and recognize their leadership in extracurricular and community service activities. For more information, contact Debra Griffin.
