LEWISTON – St. Martin de Porres announces the grand opening of its newly organized thrift store on Monday, Aug. 1.

St. Martin’s Bargain Basket is situated at the former Clothing Closet on the corner of College and Bartlett streets. It will provide good quality clothing and other household items, antiques and jewelry at a reasonable cost.

The store will continue to offer clothing and small household items at no cost, through a voucher system, for those unable to pay. The dollars generated through the thrift store will help fulfill the mission of St. Martin de Porres Residence to provide a safe and caring home for homeless men and women.

A schedule is being set up for the staff of volunteers. Anyone who would like to help should call 786-4690.

Hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Fridays, 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
