FARMINGTON – Police are investigating the theft of three Apple iBook laptop computers from Mt. Blue Middle School over the weekend.

Farmington police officer Edward Hastings said a SAD 9 computer technician reported the theft Wednesday.

The computers, valued at $1,000, are used in the student laptop program. They were in black storage bags in a locked cabinet in a classroom.

“They’re not really of value to anyone because they are password-protected,” Hastings said.

Someone entered the school through a window, then entered a classroom before breaking into the cabinet, Hastings said, and taking the laptops.

The window was not broken, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Farmington Police Department at 778-6311.
