I’ve got a few problems with Republicans. It seems they aren’t telling the truth. They say they are against big government and for personal control. But I think they’re just saying one thing and doing another.

Republicans say they should be free to marry, then claim the government should ban gay marriage. How are happily married Republicans threatened by the fact that their gay neighbors are getting married? How does that interfere with their straight marriage?

Republicans apparently don’t read their Bible much either, because they support the death penalty knowing that innocent citizens are sometimes executed by mistake. Whatever happened to “Thou shalt not kill?”

Republicans and Democrats support the right to bear arms and hunt. But why do most sportsmen support a president who hurts our environment just to please big business and big oil? Surely God doesn’t want us to pollute our land and water. The president won’t force power plants in the Midwest to clean up. Those power plants produce mercury and other pollutants that ruin our air and water here in Maine.

Republicans say they don’t want government interfering with their lives, but they vote for a president who ships their sons and daughters to Iraq to die by the thousands in a war waged on lies. Then they ignore the fact that their children’s coffins can’t be photographed lest the American public get angry with the war or the dishonest Bush administration. That’s just wrong.
