BUCKSPORT – Kyle Bussiere launched a three-run homer over the left-field fence in the fourth inning to lift Auburn Suburban to a 3-1 victory over Bucksport in the Maine State Senior Little League Tournament on Saturday.
Bucksport scored first with a single run in the top of the fourth inning But ASLL answered right back. Adam Lutz led off the bottom of the inning with a double and Jake Marcum worked the pitcher, Alex Yates, for a base on balls. Bussiere followed with his game-winning blast on the first pitch he saw.
Eric Prue contributed a double for one of four Auburn Suburban hits. Pitcher Adam Redmun scattered seven hits to earn the win.
Two-time defending state champion Auburn Suburban advances to the championship round today, needing one win over either Bucksport and Biddeford-Saco in the double-elimination tournament.
