MEXICO – Mathias “Mike” Morin Jr., 98, of Roxbury Road, died Saturday, July 30.

He was born on July 15, 1907, in Fairfield, a son of Clara (Poulin) and Mathias Morin Sr.

Mathias was educated in Fairfield schools.

He married Yvonne Richard on June 30, 1941.

He was employed for more than 40 years with Oxford Paper Co.

Mathias was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.

He enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting, playing cards and telling stories.

Mathias loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are nine grandchildren, Timothy LaPointe and wife, Peggy, of Rumford, Steve LaPointe and wife, Jeanne, of Rumford, Dan LaPointe and wife, Laurie, of Mexico, Linda Burns and husband, Jim, of Rumford, Jennifer Warriner and husband, David, of Turner, Valerie Glueck and husband, Greg, of Winslow, Nicole Lane of Raymond, Michael Morin and wife, Kathy, of Barrington, R.I., Melissa Reichert and husband, John, of Spoffard, N.H.; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Geneva; his beloved wife of 63 years, Yvonne (Richard) Morin in 2004; a daughter, Claudette; and a son, Louis.
