GOP to meet
LIVERMORE – The Livermore Republicans will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at the Brettuns Community Building. The program topic will be “The Pros and Cons of Running a Local Campaign.”
Chamber meeting
LIVERMORE – The Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce’s next breakfast meeting will be held at 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at LakeShore Commons on Route 4. Guided tours of the complex will be included.
Vacation school
STRONG – The Strong United Methodist Church will sponsor Vacation Bible School for children pre-kindergarten through grade six from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 1 to 5, at the church. Crafts, games, music, snacks and more are planned. All are welcome.
Blueberry fun
WILTON – The First Congregational Church on Main Street will hold its annual Blueberry Bazaar starting at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the church. Crafts, jewelry, baked goods, blueberry cake and coffee along with plants and vegetables will be available.
A chicken barbecue will begin at 5 p.m. The menu will include a half chicken, coleslaw, roll, blueberry cake or ice cream with blueberry sauce. Cost will be adults, $7; children, $4; eat in or take out. For more information, call 645-2535.
Lobster lunch
WILTON – St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will hold its annual Blueberry Festival lobster roll lunch starting at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the church located on the corner of High and School streets.
The lunch will include a lobster roll, chips, homemade brownie and soft drink. Business delivery is available on Friday in the Farmington/Wilton area.

Parade theme
WILTON – The theme for the Wilton Blueberry Festival doll carriage and bicycle parade is “Patriotic.” Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Franklin Savings Bank. Line-up will start at 8:30 a.m. The parade will leave from the bank and end at the former Mario’s.
Cash prizes will be given in the following categories: doll carriages, ages 8 and under, bicycles, ages 12 and under, and all others (scooters, four-wheelers). Prizes will be given for first, $15; second, $10; third, $5.
The parade is sponsored by the Farmington Emblem Club #460. The contact person for the doll and bike parade and pre-registration is Nancy Chase at 779-0752.
Band to play
WILTON – The Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management will present “Maine’s Own,” the 195th Army Band of the Maine Army National Guard. They will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the Nichols Expo, formerly the GH Bass building, Weld Road.
The Maine Army National Guard Band performs at numerous military and civilian events throughout Maine and the Eastern United States.
The band members come from all over the state from a variety of civilian occupations. The band is under the direction of Warrant Officer Brady S. Harris of Brewer. For more information, call 778-4726.
Tables available
WILTON – Tables for an indoor yard sale are available for rent when the Wilson Grange holds an indoor sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the grange hall in East Wilton.
