NORWAY – Ida O. Kuvaja, 87, of Norway, died early Monday morning, Aug. 1, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born on March 1, 1918, in Fitchburg, Mass., the daughter of William and Mary Oman. She graduated from West Paris High School.
She spent most of her working years at C.B. Cummings & Sons until her retirement in 1980.
She married Waino A. Kuvaja on Jan. 4, 1936. He passed away in April 1989.
She was a member of the Rebekahs and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed and took pride in her flowers around the farm, and cooking for and being with her family.
She is survived by a son, Wayne and his wife, Andrea, of Bridgton; two granddaughters, Pam Paradis and her husband, Glenn, of Norway, and Michele Lee of Bridgton; four grandsons, Bill Kuvaja Jr., Chris Kuvaja, Jason Kuvaja and David Lee and their families; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her husband, Waino; and a son, Bill Kuvaja Sr.
