BRIDGTON – Ruth Kimball Libby, 79, of Main Street, Fryeburg, passed away Aug. 1, at the Bridgton Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born Sept. 28, 1925, the daughter of Clifford and Rachel (Pitman) Kimball. Raised on a farm in Center Lovell; she graduated from Fryeburg Academy, Class of 1944.

In 1946, she married Kenneth P. Libby. They settled on their farm in Center Lovell; in 1961, they moved to Fryeburg.

She was employed as secretary at Fryeburg Academy for 29 years. After retirement, her main interests included reading, gardening, watching the Red Sox, shopping at the Maine Mall (Filene’s was her favorite store) and most importantly, the two loves of her life, her sons, Gary and Kent Libby.

Her survivors, besides Gary of Hampton, Va., and Kent of Palmer, Mass., are four grandchildren, Kristine, Julie, Gary K. and Carrie; and two great-grandchildren, Kyra and Allyse.
