Friends to meet
RUMFORD – The Friends of Pennacook Art Center artists’ group will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, in the gallery. The agenda will includes critique/show and tell, the latest work, a report on the community arts committee and show and tell of work from the July gelatin plate printing workshop.
Lunch speaker
RUMFORD – SeniorsPlus Medicare Prescription Drug Specialist Amy MacMillan will present an informational session about the new Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at the Rumford SeniorsPlus Lunch and Learn, Rumford Senior Center, 50 Congress St.
The new program will begin Jan. 1 and is open to anyone receiving Medicare. Lunch will be availabe at 11:30 a.m. and the menu will include chicken and broccoli casserole, baked potato, whole wheat bread, fresh fruit cup and a choice of coffee, tea or milk.
Cost is $2.50 suggested donation for those 60 and over, their spouses, volunteers and those with disabilities; $4 for those under 60. For reservations or more information, call Kim at 364-3572.
Field Day
RUMFORD POINT – The Rumford Point Community Athletic Association announces its annual Field Day and barbecue will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, rain or shine, at the field on the Martin Road. All players, coaches, parents, alumni, friends and neighbors are invited. People may bring a salad or dessert for the barbecue.
