AUBURN – The Androscoggin Children’s Advocacy Center will hold its first Chair-ity auction at 6 p.m. today at Martindale Country Club.

Dinner is at 6 p.m. with live music by Side by Side and entertainment by Chaitanya York, Maine humorist appearing as Henry Bascomb.

The cost for the dinner is $25 a person or $40 a couple. At 7:30 p.m. the auction will begin.

Children’s chairs painted by local artists will be sold to bidders. There are about 35 items, including Adirondack chairs, rocking chairs, stools and table and chair sets. Each item is unique. The public is invited to attend the dinner and the auction, or just the auction, for which there is no charge.

Photos of the chairs will be posted on the Children’s Advocacy Center Web site at www.acacme.org. All proceeds for this event will benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center. This is a new program benefiting children who have been sexually or seriously physically abused.
