The L/A Arts’ free Music in the Parks noontime concert series continues Tuesday, Aug. 9, with Mom’s Home Cookin’ playing Americana folk songs at Festival Plaza in Auburn.
On Thursday, Aug. 11, Annegret Baier & Shamou will perform percussion rhythms from around the world at Courthouse Plaza in Lewiston.
Mom’s Home Cookin’ performs bluegrass to folk songs of the 1960s, as well as classic country and Victorian parlor songs.
Dale Robin Lockman is on guitar, banjo, spoons and the Appalachian dulcimer; Monica Palmes Grabin on guitar, harp, thumb piano; and Carolyn Mix on mandolin and fiddle.
Annegret Baier is an established percussionist who specializes in West African hand drumming and a variety of ethnic music styles. She has performed solo and with the bands, Inanna, Sisters in Rhythm and the Zulu Leprechauns.
Shamou has been lead vocals and percussionist with several award-winning music ensembles.
