BRUNSWICK – Maine State Music Theatre will close its summer season with “Mame,” the hilarious musical staged her 25 years ago.

“Mame” takes audiences back to the roaring 20s as 10 year-old Patrick, an orphan boy, is delivered to his eccentric Auntie Mame’s doorstep while she is hosting a cocktail party for her wildly flamboyant friends. Thus begins 18 years of an uproarious and conflicted upbringing for Patrick, full of lavish adventures and hard life choices.
The production runs from Aug. 10-27 at the historic air-conditioned Pickard Theater on the Bowdoin College campus.
Matinee and evening performances have prices ranging from $26 to $46. Student rush tickets at $10 are available for every performance. Check with the box office for details.

Ending the summer for the Theatre for Young Audiences portion of the season is “Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.” on Aug. 24 with performances at 11a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 or $11.
The last Monday fund-raiser series of the summer is Toxic Audio, an a cappella group whose unique combination of comedy and vocal stylings are performed completely without instruments to back them up.
