In response to letters from Isabelle Fisher (July 28) and Patty Harris (Aug. 1), I agree, more should be done.

I live in probably one of the most dangerous places on Route 4. And unfortunately, I was involved in a collision not even 50 feet from my home because a driver said she didn’t see the numerous signs at the intersection. Now that might have been believable if the signs were not visible, but they are, all five of them. Oh, and did I mention a flashing red light?

Luckily, I have been through this before and was able to escape serious injury. Unfortunately, my mental health is suffering terribly. How many times can you actually be at the wrong place at the wrong time?

My point here is the other driver didn’t even receive a ticket. How upsetting is that? We are supposed to follow the rules and when you don’t, you get a ticket or fine or whatever. I have yet to get an answer to that.

The moral to this story is, until the roads are made safer by our public officials, we are all in danger.

One more thing. It’s not only kids under the age of 21 who are a danger. The person who hit me was much older. I was very lucky. That corner has been the scene of many deaths. I’m glad I wasn’t one of those.
