The Androscoggin Chorale will hold auditions for new singers on the evenings of Aug. 11 and 25. All interested singers are invited to join for the upcoming concert season.
Three stimulating and rewarding concert programs have been announced. December’s program will have a variety of seasonal music to be performed with the Blue Hill Brass Quintet and handbells of the Auburn Methodist Ringers. In March, two American works for chorus and percussion highlight an exploration of evolving choral styles. The spring concerts in early June will feature Beethoven’s lyrical Mass in C with professional soloists and the full Maine Chamber Ensemble.
The adult, mixed-voice Androscoggin Chorale rehearses on Thursday evenings at the First Universalist Church in Auburn. Performances are in Lewiston, Portland and Norway. Singers are nonprofessional musicians who are motivated to work toward the professional standards of the Maine Chamber Ensemble and the director, Peter Frewen.
To schedule an audition or for more information, people can call the Maine Music Society at 782-1403.
