LEWISTON – Lawrence Durward Piper, 58, of Mechanic Falls, died Saturday, Aug. 6, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 27, 1946, the son of Durward W. and Alice Morrison Piper. He graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1965.

He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by a daughter, Rachel Piper of Portland; a son, Matthew Piper of Lewiston; his father, Durward of Bradenton, Fla.; three brothers, Steve and wife, Sandra, of Minot, Kenneth and wife, Pamela, of Minot, and Donald and wife, Cheryl, also of Minot; one granddaughter, Katie Piper of Portland; nephews, Eric Piper of Minot, Jim Piper of Minot, Jason Piper of Greene, Benjamin Piper of Minot, and Nicholas Piper of Auburn; nieces, Paige Piper of Minot, and Jennifer Piper of California; two uncles, Bradley Piper of Norway, and Alfred Morrison of Poland; one grandnephew, Callum Piper of Auburn; one grandniece, Emily of Minot; and numerous cousins.
