FARMINGTON – Wilfred Cote, 88, of Livermore Falls, died late Saturday evening, Aug. 6, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

He was born, Feb. 3, 1917, in Connor, a son of Joseph and Laura (Soucy) Cote. He attended schools in Aroostook County and St. Rose Parochial School in Jay.

On Nov. 2, 1941, he married, Lillian F. Crosby at St. Rose of Lima in Jay.

Mr. Cote worked at International Paper Co. in Jay for 40 years, retiring in 1980.

He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima and belonged to the Quarter Century Club and the local union of I.P.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering on vehicles, vegetable gardening, and playing his fiddle.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Lillian, of Livermore Falls; three sons, Harvey and his companion, Sandra, of Leeds, Richard and his wife, Julie, of Livermore Falls, and Ivan and his wife, Betty, of Harpswell; six daughters, Christine Judd and her husband, Larry, of Livermore Falls, Dorothy Morgan and her husband, Kenny, of Cundy’s Harbor, Theresa Parlin and her companion, Dave Turcotte, of Livermore Falls, Merita Kochling and her husband, Emil, of Phippsburg, Laurie Gagnepain and her husband, Steve, of Jay, and Juanita Maney and her companion, Shawn White, of Phippsburg; two sisters, Muriel Martin and her husband, Ronald, of Flordia, and Gladys Lemay of New York; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by a sister, Yvonne Beaupre.
