PERU – Selectman Kathryn Austin has officially resigned because she is moving out of town and changing jobs.
She was elected in March 2005 to a three-year term.
Fellow Selectman Kathy Hussey said, “She brought uniqueness to the board.”
Town Clerk Vera Parent said Austin brought a “new perspective.”
Nominations to fill Austin’s position in the Nov. 8 election will be collected through Sept. 30. Nomination papers may be found at the town office. Nominees must be 18 years old and be a registered voter of Peru.
