NORWAY – Phoebe Child, 91, of Norway, passed away Aug. 6, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born in Fryeburg, Jan. 26, 1914, the daughter of Henry and Ida Shortridge Brooks.

She was married in Mexico, June 3, 1934, to Howard Child.

She was a loving wife and spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. She was a loyal devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She loved painting, flowers, tatting and reading the Bible. She volunteered much her time to the Primary and Relief Society as a teacher of children. She was known for presenting her visual analogies, which made everyone remember the point of her teachings.

She is survived by her beloved niece, Barbara Tracy and her husband, Lewis, of Norway; her nephew, John and June Bennett of Massachusetts; several other nieces and nephews; and a granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her husband; a daughter; two grandsons; two brothers; and two sisters.
