JAY – Lee M. Haynes, 52, of Haines Corner Road in Livermore Falls, died Monday, Aug. 8, from injuries sustained in a tragic accident in Jay.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1952, in Machias, and was a 1970 graduate of Washington Academy in East Machias.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany.

On April 3, 1976, in East Machias, he married Marlene Judd of Livermore Falls.

He was employed as a truck driver for E.L. Vining & Son Inc., in Farmington.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was always involved with his children’s sporting activities, making sure he attended his daughter, Jennifer’s, games as well as coaching AYS baseball for many years.

He looked forward to the time he spent with his children and the kids on the team. He and his son, Michael, loved auto racing and NASCAR, and were involved in a racing team together. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, and he was lovingly nicknamed “YaYa” by his youngest grandchild, Trevor.

He was a life member of the George Bunton Post 10 of Livermore Falls. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene, of Livermore Falls; a son, Michael and his wife, Brianne, and their two sons, Tristen Begin and Trevor Haynes; a daughter, Jennifer and friend, Jake Delano, all of Livermore Falls; his father, Harry, of Washington; two brothers, Leslie Haynes and his wife, Debbie, of Machias, and Larry Haynes and his wife, Suzanne, of Lewiston; aunt, Linnie and her husband, Hartley, of Machias; his mother-in-law, Yvonne Judd, of Livermore Falls; brothers-in-law, Raymond Judd and his wife, Sherry, of Jay, and Kenneth Judd and his wife, Gayla, of Livermore; sisters-in-law, Shirley Poulin, of Lewiston, and Pam Smith and her husband, Michael Graham, of Weld; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother and stepfather.
