LEWISTON – Peter Geiger, executive vice president, Geiger Company, presented a $5,000 gift to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Campaign for the new hospice house.
“There is no greater need in this community than that of quality health care. We believe AHCH will provide a service that will touch many lives in a special way,” said Geiger.
The 14-patient-suite facility is due to open in November. It is specially designed to care for the needs of patients in the final weeks of life when hospice care at home is no longer possible.
To date, the Journey of Hope Campaign for the hospice house has received support from more than 1,500 individuals, foundations, businesses and civic and fraternal groups.
Headquartered in Lewiston, Geiger is the largest privately held promotional products distributor in the nation. Geiger is the publisher of the Farmers’ Almanac.
Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice is a nonprofit Medicare-certified agency that annually provides comprehensive hospice care to more that 750 residents of central and western Maine. For more information, visit the Web at www.ahch.org.
