AUBURN – The Auburn Recreation Department has announced dates for the various youth football programs.

Candidates for the Auburn Rec Seventh- and Eighth-Grade teams will receive their equipment today at 5 p.m. at Hasty Gym. Practice begins Monday at 5:00 at Chestnut Street Field. A meeting of parents is scheduled for Monday, August 15 at 7 p.m. at Hasty Gym.

On August 30 an NYSCA Certification Clinic for new coaches will be held at 6 p.m. at Hasty Gym.

Following are dates for other grid programs:

Grades 5-6: Sept. 6, evaluations, 5:15 p.m., Upper Pettengill; Sept. 7, equipment issue, 6:30 p.m., Hasty Gym side room; Sept. 8, practice begin, Upper Pettengill.

Grades 3-4: Sept. 6, evaluations, 5:15 p.m., Upper Pettengill; Sept. 7, equipment issue, 5:15 p.m., Hasty Gym side room; Sept. 8, practies begin, Lower Pettengill.

Grades 1-2: Sept. 9, coaches pick up team rosters, notify players; Sept. 12, practices begin, Cleveland Field.
