Garden lunch

LEWISTON – A Community Lunch with Lots to Gardens will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the future site of the Franklin Pasture Community Garden.

People are invited for food cooked by the youth crew and to share ideas of what they would like to see in a new community garden.

Those planning to attend are asked to call Lots to Gardens at 753-6944 or 754-3192 (cell).

The site is off Birch Street after the Multi-Purpose Center. As the road curves to the left, turn right onto a dirt, non-through street, turn right again into a small dirt parking lot next to a ball field. The group will be in the field behind home plate.

Bridge play

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Aug. 9 at the Multi-Purpose Center. North/South winners in Flight A were: first, David Lock and Patricia Garcia; second, Leslie Buzzell and Nancy Lindgren; third, Martine Begert and Lucille Theriault. Winners in Flight B were Larry Fortier and Roger Briggs.

East/West winners in Flight A were: first, Patricia Quinn and Mary Leahey; second, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Mike Quinn and Luke Merry. Winners in Flight B and C were Bill and Barbara Whitman.

Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Multi-Purpose Center. A partner is guaranteed.

The club also met on Aug. 10 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in Flight A were: first, Luke Merry and Paul Barber; second, Alberta Turner and Lucille Bilodeau; third, Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Martine Begert and Jeanine Kivus. Winners in Flight B were Alberta Turner and Lucille Bilodeau.
