AUBURN – The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the Hasty Community Center for the annual Tot Lot picnic. The doors will open at 9 a.m. Coffee and doughnuts will be available and after the barbecue lunch, bingo will be played.
The club met on Aug. 3 and before the meeting Val Labrie was honored on the occasion of her 100th birthday.
Labrie was presented a corsage and a cake and was joined by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and John Spugnardi, and great-grandson, Tyler.
At the meeting President Caroline Chapman announced that the first meeting in September would be held at the American Legion Hall on Washington Street. Fair Chairman Bill Redmun called for volunteers for the October fair, especially those who are willing to solicit items for the raffle.
Chairwoman Pat Edwards introduced new members Glenna Urquhart and Lynn Sylvester. Martha Goodwin has agreed to be the new recording secretary. Attendance winners were Aileen Harnden and Lucy Cowles; pot of gold winners, Ralph Lashua, Alice White and Don Fyfe. After a bag lunch, bingo was played.
