CHAIN OF PONDS TOWNSHIP – Drivers using Route 27 in Chain of Ponds can expect to encounter a traffic signal at a Ledge Hill highway construction site for the next several weeks.

“We’re removing ledge adjacent to the roadway as part of the construction project,” said Jeffrey Wallace, Maine DOT’s construction manager for the project. “Because of the height of the ledge and its proximity to the existing roadway, we’re going to be restricting traffic to a single lane through the blasting area. To regulate the alternating one-way traffic, we’re installing a traffic signal on Ledge Hill.”

The Ledge Hill work is part of a larger project to improve Route 27 in Eustis, Jim Pond Township, Alder Stream Township and Chain of Ponds Township.
